AWB today named the winners of its AWB national crop survey prize draw with $5,000 cash for the national winner and five iPads awarded to winners across Australia’s wheat belt.
Ben Fargher, General Manager AWB Origination, said: “The participation by farmers across Australia’s wheat belt was outstanding and all farmers who completed this year’s AWB national crop survey went into a draw to win the prizes.”
“The national crop survey provides farmers will direct line of sight as to trends in this season’s crop at both a national and local level and assists farmers who participated to make informed marketing decisions this harvest and planting decisions next season,” Mr Fargher said.
The national winner was Stan Hayles from the Yorke Peninsula in SA and he will receive $5000 cash.
This year’s state winners who will each receive an iPad with Retina display (32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular) are:
- NSW state winner – Robert Blacker, North Western
- VIC state winner – David Hucker, Central Highlands
- SA state winner – Michael Heath, Eyre Peninsula
- WA state winner – Edward Somers, Midlands
- Qld state winner – Barry Price, Fitzroy
All participates in the survey receive the Crop Planting Trend report which highlights the key trend in crop composition.
“The survey results will assist AWB in making informed decisions regarding the most appropriate grain and oilseed segregations at each of our GrainFlow storage and handling sites,” Mr Fargher said.
“The information also ensures we can provide our farmer customers with accurate localised information relating to their business in order to assist them in making the most informed decisions when marketing their crop.
“It also gives us the confidence around our domestic and international sales and marketing program as we can engage with our customers with the knowledge that we have accurate information regarding this year’s crop in terms of quality and tonnage,” Mr Fargher said.
