Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) for all wheat grades in the AWB Number 1 and Number 2 National Pools are unchanged following the fortnightly review of National Pool returns.
The 2007/08 EPR for benchmark APW grade for the AWB Number 1 National Pool remains at $418/t (FOB GST exclusive) and the Number 2 National Pool APW remains at $399/t (FOB GST exclusive).
However, the Number 3 National Pool has been reduced by $15 a tonne and APW is now at $335/t (FOB GST exclusive). AWB opened the 2007/08 Number 3 National Pool in May for any future wheat deliveries. This pool , which has little wheat deliveries, was opened to ensure financial equity of growers who have delivered to the Number 1 and Number 2 pools are protected.
AWB General Manager National Pool, David Johnson, said the northern hemisphere major export crops remain in good condition with a favourable outlook for the EU harvest.
“The price pressure of the positive 2008 northern hemisphere crop supply due to be harvested shortly has affected the international wheat prices and futures over the past fortnight, with price values continuing to drift lower,” said Mr Johnson.
The next pool update is scheduled for Tuesday 10th June 2008.
