National Pool Distribution

The AWB National Pool Distributions* are periodic payments made to you as the AWB National Pool sells and receives payment for wheat.

You receive no payment at harvest. Distribution payments (plus GST) are only made to you if there is equity available in the specific varietal pool you have delivered to.

It is important to note that Distributions are not underwritten and the timing and amount of cash flow is uncertain. This product does not offer the grower protection or certainty for their business.

* See the 2007 AWB Harvest Finance & National Pool Terms and Conditions (PDF 255 Kb) for full details.

AWB National Pool Vs Competitor Pools

1. Do our competitors pay on Varietal Pay Grade or Bin Grade?
AWB National Pool always pay on Varietal Pay Grade – normally the higher paying of the two options.

2. What Protein, Screenings, Moisture and quality increments will the competitor pool pay?
Are our competitors matching AWB Golden Rewards payment increments fully or are they paying something less?

Some competitor pools only pay increments to certain levels or “cap” their quality payments. Some also have “flat” prices, that is, they don’t pay quality increments at all. AWB National Pool provides premium payments for Premium Choice Varieties.

3. What is the Net Pool Return at my local site?
Because of the size of the AWB National Pool, AWB constantly negotiates with freight providers to minimise freight costs to AWB National Pool participants. Be sure competitors are not simply quoting you their delivered-port pool estimate, from which they’ll later deduct a higher freight rate. View AWB’s site-to-sea costs.

4. Do you know what Administration Fees are being charged to you?
All Pools have fees – AWB is very transparent with the fees it charges. Estimated Silo Returns fully reflect AWB’s Pool management fees.

5. Do you know when your Pool payments will be made? What are payment terms? When are subsequent and final pool payments made?
Most competitor pools pay distributions well after the AWB Distribution payments. That means you can have your money sooner with AWB.

6. Do you have easy access to transparent and detailed payment statements?
AWB National Pool paperwork is easily available on request or online.

7. Are competitor pool estimates regularly updated and readily available publicly?
AWB National Pool issues a public pool estimate every fortnight from the February prior to harvest right through to the time a pool is finalised. During the core harvest period (November-December) AWB provides these updates weekly.
