01/02 National Pool Performance Report
AWB released the 2001 National Pool Report, Monday 22nd December 2003.
The report details the performance and operating environment of the 2001 AWB National Pool that ran from January 2001 and July 2003. It provides detail on and explains some of the complexities involved in generating, protecting and enhancing returns for growers through the AWB National Pool.
Key Points to Note are:
- Total equity for the 2001 AWB National Pool was A$5.4 billion, making it the largest pool ever in terms of value.
- The AWB National Pool sold 17 million tonnes of wheat to customers in more than 45 countries and
- AWB was successful in achieving the highest ever pay grade returns to growers in a period where it had to manage a very volatile international environment.
Growers have asked for more information about the operations of the AWB National Pool. AWB has delivered this in this report and has provided a higher level of transparency to actively demonstrate how AWB is maximising returns to growers. The Report, which can be downloaded in SUMMARY or FULL format from this page, is therefore the most comprehensive ever produced. It includes:
- an expanded commentary on the performance of the 2001 AWB National Pool
- a significant increase in the amount of financial data provided
- a full financial statement (independantly audited) and
- a report on the Wheat Industry Benchmark (independently audited).
