AWB 2010/11 Barley pool participants will receive final pool payments from AWB ahead of schedule, with final payments to occur on Friday 25 November 2011.  

Pool distribution payments will range from $103 - $116 a tonne for F1 barley and $130 - $143 a tonne for malting barley grades, with the remaining 35% of upcountry, port and freight costs to be deducted as applicable.  Payments for all AWB pool payment options are to be finalised in this payment.

AWB Jon White said: “The 2010/11 barley was well supported by both from farmers and customers, with the majority of our opening barley Estimated Pool Returns increasing in value.”

“We continue to build strong relationships throughout Asia and Middle East with a range of customers looking to us to supply barley, including combination cargoes with wheat and sales into the domestic market where greater value was achieved,” Mr White said.

“Overall our 2010/11 barley pools performed well and returned good prices across all grades in an  extremely volatile barley market.  The AWB barley pool outperformed the average ASX feed barley contract and we are also pleased with our performance against competing 2010/11 barley pools.

“AWB 2011/12 barley pools are open and in a big season like this our barley pools are an ideal marketing option for farmers to utilise as part of their broader marketing strategy.  We have proven through last season’s barley pool that we have experience and expertise in managing pools and providing good financial return, which has been enhanced by our expanded global footprint and access to market intelligence .
