The AWB today announced that estimated pool returns (EPRs) for its 2011/12 barley pools remain unchanged as harvest continues across the Australian grain belt.
AWB’s Jon White said: “Following the success of last year’s barley pools we are experiencing strong interest from Australian barley farmers in marketing through our 2011/12 barley pools as farmers seek alternative marketing channels in this volatile price environment.”
“The 2011/12 barley pool provides an opportunity for Australian barley farmers as we see demand gathering momentum in the New Year as Saudi demand returns to the market beyond April, which will support demand and our EPRs,” Mr White said.
“The trade continues to monitor weather patterns in the Northern Hemisphere as any adverse weather conditions in the first half of 2012 will have a significant impact on barley prices in the New Year,” Mr White said.
Farmers should contact our grain marketers or call AWB’s farmers services centre on 1800 4GRAIN (1800 447 246) regarding their grain marketing.
