(20/01/2009) |
AWB has closed its Eastern Wheat Pool to deliveries in the Mackay and Gladstone Port Zones.
AWB General Manager Australian Commodities Stuart Richardson said that with harvest finished in these areas AWB was moving to firm up the location and volume of its Pool tonnage.
“By closing the Eastern Pool to deliveries in these two port zones we can execute our sales and shipping program with certainty around the volumes we have available for sales to both domestic and export customers,” Mr Richardson said.
“This will enable us to effectively market our pool’s wheat and ensure our pool returns to growers are competitive.”
AWB’s pools in other locations remain open. Mr Richardson reminded growers that AWB’s pools could close at any time without notice.
“Growers can guarantee access to AWB’s Eastern and Western Pools by contracting into them,” Mr Richardson said.
Growers wishing to contract into AWB’s Western and Eastern Pools can do so by contacting their local Grain Marketer, or the AWB Grower Service Centre on 1800 054 433.
