(04/05/2010) |
AWB will pay its first distribution to barley growers in its 2009/10 season barley pools overnight on Wednesday, 5 May.
AWB General Manager Commodities Mitch Morison said that AWB was actively making barley sales into Asia, largely into Japan, as well as executing combination wheat and barley cargoes into Middle Eastern customers.
“We ran our barley pool over the recent harvest in response to grower requests for a new market option and our customer requests for barley in addition to wheat, so it’s been tailored to meet their needs,” Mr Morison said.
“This first distribution is a healthy 45 percent of the estimated pool return (EPR) for malting grades and 38 per cent for feed barley, less supply chain costs.
“The pool is now over 70 per cent priced, so EPRs for all grades are holding steady and all are above their opening harvest estimates, so it’s a strong performance,” Mr Morison said.
EPR and distribution details appear below. Growers with any queries about their payments should contact the AWB Grower Services Centre on 1800 054 433.
