AWB will make its second distribution of $170 million FOB (excl GST) to wheat growers participating in its 2009/10 season wheat pools on Wednesday, 14 July. After deduction of supply chain costs, the net payment to growers will be $139 million (excl GST).
AWB General Manager Commodities Mitch Morison said that AWB’s sales program was progressing well, in a very volatile market.
“We’ve now sold over 1.8 million tonnes of pool wheat and the volatile nature of the market has created a range of opportunities,” Mr Morison said.
“With this latest distribution of 24-32 per cent of pool equity, grade-dependent, we will have paid out between 44 and 50 per cent of estimated pool equity across the full range of wheat grades.
“This means we are on track with our estimated payment schedule, which growers will see in whatever pool payment option they are utilising, and with the next distribution due in October,” Mr Morison said.
AWB’s 2009/10 estimated pool returns (EPRs) are holding steady, with benchmark grade APW wheat having an EPR of $242 a tonne in the AWB’s Western Pool and $240 a tonne in the Eastern Pool (FOB, excl GST).
