(03/02/2010) |
AWB will close its 2009/10 season wheat pool in the Geraldton port zone on Friday, February 5 and Thevenard, Wallaroo and Port Giles port zones on Tuesday, February 9. All other port zones in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria are under review and likely to close in the near future.
AWB General Manager Commodities, Mitch Morison, said that with harvest all but complete in even the most southerly regions, growers planning to utilise AWB’s pools should make delivery arrangements promptly. Growers can take a pool access contract, or have grain transferred to the AWB pool until midnight on the relevant pool closure date.
“I’d encourage any grower who wants to know more about AWB’s pools and marketing program to contact their local AWB grain marketer without delay, or call the AWB Grower Services Centre,” Mr Morison said.
AWB’s website shows full schedules of estimated silo returns for all wheat grades, along with latest updates of estimated pool returns. Growers can call the AWB Grower Services Centre on 1800 054 433.
