AWB will make its fourth distribution to wheat growers participating in its 2009/10 season wheat pools on Wednesday, 12 January. The gross amount will be $152 million and after deduction of supply chain costs, the net payment to growers will be $139 million (excl GST).

AWB General Manager Commodities Mitch Morison said the distribution meant payment for most grades would be 85-90 per cent complete, with durum grades 100 per cent paid.

“The marketing campaign for the 2009/10 crop is now complete, with the residual task being the final execution of some sales and obviously collection of funds for those shipments,” he said.

“The pool will then be externally audited ahead of finalisation, which we expect to occur by the end of April or possibly a little earlier.

“Currently estimated returns (EPRs) for all grades are holding steady, with benchmark grade APW wheat having an EPR of $253 a tonne in the AWB’s Western Pool and $251 a tonne in the Eastern Pool (FOB, excl GST).”
