Media Release: AWB barley pool steady  (11/01/2010)

Estimated pool returns (EPRs) for AWB’s 2009/10 season barley pools are holding steady, with the EPR for Baudin/Gairdner malt on $269 a tonne and Feed 1 at $187 a tonne (FOB, excl GST).

AWB General Manager Commodities Mitch Morison said that there had been little international trade occurring over the Christmas period and limited demand into early January.

“Our barley pools are still open and have already made their first payments to growers, so we are keen to talk with growers who may have warehoused barley and are now looking to place it into the market,” Mr Morison said.

AWB’s barley pool is accepting accept F1 & F2 barley in WA & SA, as well as Baudin, Gairdner, Buloke and Vlamingh malt varieties in WA.

EPRs: F1 $187/t, F2 $177/t, BA1 $269/t, GA1 $269/t, BU1 $259/t, VL1 $259/t (EPRs are FOB, excl GST).
