AWB (International) Limited has maintained estimates for both old and new crop pools in the face of a falling international futures market.
Peter Geary, AWB (International) Limited General Manager said over the past week, March wheat futures had fallen almost US 10 cents per bushel, which equates to over A$5 per tonne.
“We have an extensive risk management program in place, particularly in relation to US wheat futures values, which allows us to withstand some of these decreases in wheat values. As such, all estimates remain unchanged,” said Mr Geary.
AWB today announced a Guaranteed Pool Return (GPR) for recently introduced grades of Durum 2 (DR2), Durum 3 (DR3), Australian Utility Noodle (AUN2) and the screenings grade ASC.
This GPR is guaranteed for the life of the pool, regardless of whether the actual returns are reduced as a result of international price pressure.
The GPR is the minimum pool return that growers can expect if they received a National Pool Harvest Payment, and are as follows:
| Grade and Base Rate |
Estimated Pool Return (inc GST) |
GPR |
| ADR2 (11.5% protein 5% screenings) |
$230.45 |
$184.36 |
| ADR3 (10% protein 5% screenings) |
$209 |
$167.20 |
| ASC (Unlimited protein and screenings) |
$95.00 |
$76.00 |
| AUN2 (10.5% protein 7% screenings) |
$229.90 |
$160.93 |
