WA Farmers who need access to grain for their livestock will have access to AWB stocks at selected CBH silos.
Co-ordinator of the stock feed release program Richard Beck said the provision of access to AWB wheat stocks would ease some of the pressure on the WA livestock industry, which is suffering from drought conditions and a lack of green feed this winter.
“Farmers will be able to access the AWB’s wheat stocks at current market prices,” Mr Beck said.
“The service will be available at a limited number of WA CBH sites, and tonnage may be restricted at some locations to fit in with AWB’s export shipping requirements and CBH operations.”
Grain will be available from CBH sites at Albany, Geraldton, Forestfield and a number of country receival points.
Buyers will need to provide three days notice of their intention to pick up grain, and must pay by electronic funds transfer or bank cheque prior to acquiring their grain. The minimum contract size is 25 tonnes.
Mr Beck said farmers wanting access to grain stocks should contact him at the AWB Wongan Hills office on 96 711 755.
