AWB Limited has issued proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia, AWB’s Chief Executive, Andrew Lindberg said today.

AWB took this action in response to legal proceedings threatened this week by an unsuccessful candidate in the March 2001 Board elections.

"The allegations are unfounded and the Company has at all times acted properly and in the best interests of shareholders", said Mr Lindberg.

"The Company is confident in the integrity of the election process and has taken this action following the advice of senior counsel," he said.
