AWB today announced the guaranteed access dates for the 2001/02 Number One National pools in each pay-grade and port zone.
Pools will only be closed after harvest has been deemed to be substantially complete.
AWB’s National Pool General Manager, Sarah Scales, said that specifying closing dates would provide growers with certainty about their delivery options. According to Ms Scales, it would also strengthen the value of the Number One pools by giving AWB greater security of supply.
“This process assists AWB in our international pool marketing strategies, because we know exactly how much grain is still to be delivered,” Ms Scales said.
AWB may elect to close specific sites within a port zone, or specific zones within a state. AWB will, however, take account of the need to provide growers with an equal opportunity to participate in Golden Rewards when making this decision.
“Growers now have definite dates by which they need to allocate or deliver their grain to AWB. If necessary, growers should take out an a deferred delivery option contract with AWB which would allow them to deliver specific tonnage after the closing date,” said Ms Scales.
For further information on Deferred Delivery Option Contracts, growers should contact their local area office, or the Grower Services Centre on 1800 054 433.
