Vietnamese flour millers took part in an AWB education and marketing program to help them get more out of Australian wheat today.
Millers attending the seminar were introduced to the specific quality and processing characteristics of Australian wheat products, their derived flours and suitability to producing high quality end products.
The Golden Opportunities program, which has been run in several importing countries, aims to create awareness of Australian wheat products and improve the capability of millers to produce products which meet the needs of their consumers.
Dr Nasir Azudin, AWB Manager of Global Technical Services, is an international food technologist and food-processing expert. Dr Azudin presented at the Golden Opportunities seminar and said that it is important to inform AWB customers about the specific advantages of using Australian wheat.
“We are putting particular emphasis on the provision of practical and theoretical flour milling as well as the wheat and flour quality characteristics of Australian White Wheat products,” said Dr Azudin.
“We believe it is important to work closely with valued customers to provide products and services that can add value. The importance of supply relationships has also been demonstrated at the Golden Opportunities seminar,” Dr Azudin said.
“AWB Marketing and Technical specialists covered Australia's unique wheat breeding and production capabilities, classification and delivery standards and AWB's quality assurance system which allows us to deliver our customers quality wheat, made to order.”
The most commonly used wheat varieties in Vietnam are APW, ASW, AH9, Feed and GP. With this knowledge AWB milling technicians are educating millers on how to gain the best possible outcomes from particular Australian wheat varieties.
AWB provides ongoing technical support and after sales service for the global milling industry.
