AWB (International) Limited (AWBI) will make its fourth distribution from the 2000/2001 National Pools on January 8, 2002, passing on a total of $917 million to Pool participants.
AWBI General Manager Sarah Scales said the quarterly distributions reflect all sales revenue received from AWB wheat sales, and the latest would take the total amount paid out for the 2000/01 Pools to just over $3 billion.
Ms Scales said AWBI had been able to pass on the benefits of significant premiums for Australian wheat, effective foreign exchange management and the subsequent strength in Pool estimates.
“AWB has now received a significant percentage of sales revenue for most grades in the 2000/01 marketing program. This is reflected in the distributions to date,” Ms Scales said.
“Our sales and shipping program has also been strong, and we are confident that will continue to the benefit of the participants in the National Pool,” Ms Scales said.
The fourth distribution of $68.51 (FOB, GST exclusive) for APW takes the total paid for the APW Pool to $187.74 per tonne, representing 81% of the estimated equity and leaving about $45 per tonne to be paid for APW in the final distribution in early April.
Growers who took the AWB National Pool Harvest Payment will have the December distribution, less costs for the quarter, credited against their loan balance on January 8, 2002.
Growers who delivered to the National Pool but did not take advantage of the Harvest Payment will receive the distribution direct into their bank accounts.
