AWB today opened a new regional office in Northam, enhancing its service to WA growers and expanding its investment in rural and regional communities.
AWB Managing Director Andrew Lindberg said the office would provide an important hub for growers in WA’s central Wheatbelt, through which AWB would offer an expanding range of products and services.
"Earlier this year AWB announced a major upgrade of its Grower Services network, which included a significant increase in the number of staff and offices across the Australian grain belt," Mr Lindberg said.
"WA growers are to be major beneficiaries of that strategy, which includes the new Northam office, and will provide an even more visible AWB, with more points of contact and a service that will be both responsive and proactive to growers’ business needs.
Mr Lindberg said the new office would complement AWB’s current regional network in WA, particularly the Wongan Hills and Merredin offices, which would retain their strong local focus.
The Northam office will initially include six AWB staff, who will possess a mix of specialist skills to meet the increasingly sophisticated business needs of growers.
Included will be AWB Regional Managers Ruth Atterby (Central West WA) and Tony Matchett (South Central WA) who will also service their respective regions, including the Wongan Hills and Merredin offices, from the new Northam hub.
The increasing presence of AWB in rural WA will provide an important service network for the new AWB National Pool Payment Options launched last week, and the expanding range of risk management products being offered by AWB.
Mr Lindberg said AWB was also due to announce further developments of its Grower Services Network in WA soon.
"These investments recognise the importance of the WA wheat industry, and further highlight AWB’s commitment to the state’s wheat growers and their communities," Mr Lindberg said.
The Northam office is located at 55 Fitzgerald Street, Northam WA 6401.
