AWB National Pool has lifted Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) for 2004/05 durum pay grades by $4 per tonne, while EPRs for all milling grades remain unchanged as part of this week’s Pool Update.
AWB National Pool increased the 2004/05 EPR for top grade durum, APDR, to $223/t, while AGDR is up to $193/t. The change is in response to continued market uncertainty surrounding durum quality in Canada – the world’s largest durum producer – which has been supportive for durum values.
EPRs for all new season milling grades have remain unchanged, despite a rising Australian dollar and a relatively flat international wheat market. For benchmark APW the 2004/05 EPR remains $200/t. There is no change to the 2003/04 AWB National Pool.
AWB has also made a number of adjustments to receival standards and binning lines for 2004/05 AGDR. These include an increase in the maximum screenings level for AGDR from 10% to 15% with a 25 cent discount for each 0.1 increase in screenings above 10%. For South Australian growers, AWB has introduced the ADR4 binning line to capture the higher screening durum. The protein minimum for AGDR has also been reduced from 10% to 9% with a discount of 60 cents for each 0.1% reduction in protein below 10%.
