| | AWB closes 2004/05 Pool in Queensland | | |
(
20/12/2004) |
AWB has announced the closure of the 2004/05 Number 1 National Pool for deliveries in Queensland, effective from 6pm (AEST) today.
With the Guaranteed Access Dates for the three ports zones in Queensland having now all expired, AWB has closed the Pool in order to protect value for participants in the current marketing environment.
AWB has opened a Number 2 Pool in Queensland for the following grades - APH, AH, AUH, APW, ASW, AGP, APDR and AGDR. All EPRs for the Number 2 National Pool are at a $12/t discount of those of the Number 1 Pool. This means APH is $204.50/t, while APDR is $210//t.
AWB also reminds growers that Guaranteed Access Dates in other states are also approaching (see table below). After this time, the Number 1 National Pool may close for deliveries without further notice. Growers have the option of taking a deferred delivery contract with AWB, which provides access beyond these dates, by contacting their regional office.
It is important for growers to transfer their wheat quickly from warehousing into the AWB National Pool, as it helps the movement of grain and assists in obtaining important quality information for AWB’s international marketing program.
