The AWB Group, Australia’s leading agribusiness, opened its new state office in Perth yesterday marking a milestone in the integration of AWB and Landmark in Western Australia.
The office in Bennett Street, East Perth, was opened by AWB Managing Director, Andrew Lindberg, and WA Minister for Agriculture, Kim Chance.
Mr Lindberg said the new office marked another significant step in the integration of AWB and Landmark in WA, and highlighted the company’s commitment to agriculture in the state.
“The new office will act as the state hub for the WA regional network, and will bring together a wide range of agribusiness professionals providing services in grain marketing and supply chain management, along with rural finance, livestock marketing and rural merchandise,” Mr Lindberg said.
“As Australia’s leading agribusiness, the AWB Group is committed to the growth and prosperity of agriculture in WA, striving to be the business partner of choice for both farmers and end use consumers of WA produce.
“This is our largest centre apart from our head office, and it will allow us to more readily capture the integration opportunities within the group and offer the benefit of that to farmers,” Mr Lindberg said
WA Minister for Agriculture, Kim Chance, said the new office provided a major base for the AWB Group, and was a significant development for the company and the broader industry.
“Agriculture is an integral part of the Western Australian economy, and AWB has shown a long term commitment to agriculture in this state. This commitment has clearly been strengthened with the integration of the Landmark activities, through which the company has invested further in rural WA and is aiming to provide farmers with improved products and services,” Minister Chance said.
The new office will house 85 staff in the one location, with expertise in everything from grain marketing to merchandise, livestock, wool, fertiliser, finance and real estate.
