AWB National Pool has made a number of revisions to 2004/05 Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs), with a narrowing of the price spread for high protein wheat.
Two changes have been made to 2004/05 base rates, with APH down $1.50 per tonne to $216.50/t (FOB, GST exclusive), while top grade durum, APDR, has been reduced by $1/t to $222/t.
Changes have also been made to Golden Rewards, with a decrease in protein payments for wheat in the APH and AH pay grades, as well as the two durum pay grades. Once again there has been no change to EPRs for the 2003/04 AWB National Pool.
General Manager AWB International, Sarah Scales, said US wheat futures had remained relatively steady this week, although the premiums for high protein wheat have continued to narrow.
Ms Scales said the changes to EPRs also reflected the quality profile of the Australian crop and AWB National Pool.
“One of the trends of the Australian harvest to date is that protein is higher than normal, and a larger proportion of grain is being delivered to the hard wheat pay grades such APH and AH at very high protein levels,” Ms Scales said.
