| ||AWB upgrades varieties EGA Gregory, Ellison and H46|| ||
AWB National Pool has upgraded the classification of three wheat varieties for classification zones in southern and eastern Australia. The upgrades follow the evaluation of further samples and data by the AWB National Pool Variety Classification Panel in June.
The classification changes only apply to the specific classification zones mentioned for each variety below.
EGA Gregory has previously been classified as Australian Hard (AH) in northern New South Wales (NSW) – this has now been upgraded to Australian Prime Hard (APH) for that region.
Due to insufficient data at the required protein level, the Classification Panel was unable to confirm the APH assessment made in Queensland for EGA Gregory in its initial evaluations. However, on presentation of additional data the evaluation in 2005 has resulted in EGA Gregory meeting the quality standards for the APH classification in northern NSW."
EGA Gregory is commercialised by Pacific Seeds.
Ellison had previously obtained a temporary classification of AH in central and southern NSW - this has been upgraded to APH for those regions.
Initial evaluation by the Classification panel concluded that further data was required to complete the assessment, and evaluation of further samples has confirmed that Ellison meets the quality requirements for APH classification.
Ellison is commercialised by Sunprime.
H46 to date has held a regional classification of Australian Standard White (ASW) in both Victoria and South Australian - this has now been revised to be Australian Premium White (APW) for those regions.
Evaluation of data and samples from both SA and Vic by the Classification Panel has resulted in H46 meeting the quality criteria for APW classification.
H46 is commercialised by Sunprime Seeds.
