AWB National Pool has made a number of revisions to 2005-06 Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs), with a widening of the price spread premium for higher protein wheats (above 10% protein).
For the 2005-06 National Pool, Australian Prime Hard (APH) rose $2 to $225.50/t (FOB, GST exclusive) while Australian Hard (AH) also rose $2 to $204/t. Meanwhile Australian Premium White (APW) and Australian Standard White (ASW) have been reduced by $2 to $191/t and $176/t respectively. 2005-06 premium durum pay grades were increased $1/t (FOB, GST exclusive).
AWB has also made some adjustments to the Golden Rewards protein scales for the 2005-06 AWB National Pool, increasing protein payments for wheat in the APH and AH pay grades and the two premium durum pay grades. Once again there has been no change to EPRs for the 2004-05 AWB National Pools.
General Manager, AWB International, Sarah Scales said the revised EPRs reflected increased global demand for premium hard wheat varieties with protein above 10%.
Ms Scales also said the firm global durum market had resulted in improvements to the base rate and protein scales for the two premium durum pay grades APDR and APDB as well as general purpose durum AGDR.
She added that despite adverse market conditions EPRs for the 2004-05 AWB National Pool remained unchanged highlighting the Pool’s high level of pricing coverage.
In response to seasonal needs, the AWB National Pool has also opened an AUW2 pool which falls under the AUW pay grade. The binning line for AUW2 has no minimum protein level and will capture grain with a field fungi maximum count of 10 grains per half litre (mould).
A DR4 binning line AWB National Pool has also been opened which falls under the AGDR pay grade. This binning line will capture grain with maximum screenings of 20%, maximum bread wheat of 10%, a maximum of 250 barley seeds per half litre and minimum protein levels of 9.5%.
