AWB Limited Chairman, Mr Brendan Stewart, said the Board of Directors is examining the Federal Government’s decision to transfer the bulk veto to the Minister for Agriculture.
“We need further information about the proposed changes before we can comment in detail about the impacts,” Mr Stewart said.
“We are seeking additional information to determine the impact on Estimated Pool Returns for the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 National Pools and the impact on company earnings.
“Our main focus is to avoid unintended consequences for wheat growers, customers, shareholders and employees as a result of the proposed changes,” Mr Stewart.
