| ||Media Release: AWB Constitutional Reform Update|| ||
AWB’s Managing Director Gordon Davis today released a series of fact sheets for Australian wheat growers on the benefits of AWB Constitutional reform.
The fact sheets address issues raised in meetings with wheat growers in New South Wales and Western Australia over the last week.
“I have been encouraged by the level of constructive response to our proposed constitutional change,” Mr Davis said.
“The main concern amongst wheat growers I have spoken to is will AWB continue to be a major exporter of Australian wheat.
“I wish to assure Australian wheat growers that AWB will continue to remain focussed on being Australia’s number one wheat exporter under the new wheat export marketing arrangements.
“We have solid relationships with international customers, a strong footprint across the wheatbelt of Australia and good relationships with the overwhelming majority of Australian wheat farmers.
“AWB will ensure it has the necessary products and services available to Australian wheat growers to assist them in marketing their wheat including continued pool and cash options.
“I will continue to meet with a range of growers over the coming weeks across the Australian wheat belt to ensure they are fully informed and aware of the benefits of reform to the company, wheat growers and shareholders.
“I encourage all growers to read the notice of meeting and make an informed vote regarding AWB Constitutional change.”
