Selection and appointment of the external auditor

AWB’s current external auditors, Ernst & Young, were appointed in September 1998, prior to AWB’s listing on the Australian Stock Exchange on 22 August 2001.

The Audit Committee Charter sets out the responsibility of the Audit Committee for advising the Board on:

  • the selection and appointment of future external auditors;
  • the monitoring and review of the performance of the external auditor; and
  • the independence of the external auditor, including the duration of the appointment, the last dates of rotation of audit partners and an analysis of fees paid to the external audit firm, in particular the materiality of fees for non‑audit services and the nature of non‑audit services.
