The Managing Director of AWB, Mr Gordon Davis, today announced the appointment of Philip Gentry as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, and John Russell as Head of Strategy.
“Mr Gentry has been AWB’s acting CFO and previously was AWB’s Head of Strategy,” Mr Davis said. “Prior to this appointment, Phillip held a number of senior roles in institutional and corporate banking and commodity and trade finance in both Australia and New Zealand with the ANZ Group.
“Mr Russell comes to AWB with a wealth of experience in senior financial roles and is a proven leader in large corporate and private equity firms. John has previously held senior management positions at Tabcorp, Ausdoc Information Management, Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group and KPMG. He will commence with AWB in late May.
“These two positions are critical appointments for AWB going forward and ensure the company has management experience to lead and grow the business. Both appointments follow an extensive internal and external search and I’m confident that the capabilities and experience of these two senior managers puts AWB in a good position to continue our rebuilding and growth strategies.”
