AWB today announced Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) for the 2008/09 AWB Eastern and Western Wheat Pools including grade spreads and protein increments on the major milling grades.
The EPR for APW in the Western Pool is $359 (FOB, GST exclusive) and the noodle grade EPR is $359 (FOB, GST exclusive).
The EPR for APW in the Eastern Pool is $356 (FOB, GST exclusive) and the durum grade DR1 is $440 (FOB, GST, exclusive).
AWB Australia Commodity Division General Manager, Mitch Morison, today said the EPRs for the Eastern and Western wheat pools will reflect the markets for wheat from those regions and are tailored to meet specific customer profiles.
“The EPRs will reflect estimated sales achieved, the current international wheat cash price, US futures and the Australian dollar,” Mr Morison said.
“AWB is pleased to provide growers with estimated grade spreads and protein increments for the major milling grades. These estimates will be refined over time and will reflect AWB’s wheat marketing and hedging program,” he said. EPRs are quoted net of the management fee.
Growers are reminded that the AWB Pool contracting period providing $10 per tonne Early Commitment Premium is currently open. This option is available to growers who contract into AWB’s wheat pools between prior to Friday 10th October, unless the offer is withdrawn sooner. Growers who contract into AWB wheat pools will be required to fulfil contract commitments to AWB as outlined in the terms & condition. AWB wheat pools can close at any time to protect pool returns.
“We expect the pool EPRs and grade spreads to remain volatile in the new marketing environment. We will continue to refine both as we build the quality profile of our pool and begin our sales and hedging programme,” Mr Morison said.
