New longest train record set as grain heads to drought affected north
GrainFlow
A new record for the longest train in the history of the ARTC network has been set. Loaded on a Southern Short Haul train with local grain delivered to Cargill’s GrainFlow site at Crystal Brook, South Australia, the train is 1.8 kilometres long and 102 wagons in length, pipping the former record of 101 wagons which was also loaded at the same GrainFlow site just over 2 months ago.
A spectacular achievement by the local GrainFlow team that speedily loaded 102 wagons, estimated at over 6000 tonnes of grain in-order to get the train to its destination on time. Here is our woman of the moment, Bianca Schuller from Crystal Brook, talking to Southern Cross news.
