AWB Limited yesterday closed its Domestic Noodle Wheat Pool in Victoria to deliveries, effective 5pm. The Domestic Noodle wheat Pool accumulates noodle quality Rosella wheat for end use in the Victorian domestic market.
AWB (Australia) Limited General Manager Bob McKay said the price premiums over export markets for high quality Rosella wheat were captured in the Domestic Noodle Pool and returned to growers.
“The current estimated Domestic Noodle Pool equity of $203.50 (including GST) delivered port provides a good premium over other available pricing options for growers of the Rosella variety. This demonstrates the value of growers tapping into the domestic market when they have the right quality grain,” Mr McKay said.
“With such strong returns on offer growers have been quick to fill the Domestic Noodle Pool and this is demonstrated in its early closure this season.”
Growers who want to know more about marketing opportunities using AWB’s Domestic Pools should contact their local area office.
