AWB Limited today closed its Domestic Hard Pool in WA to deliveries, effective 5pm. The Domestic Hard Pool accumulates high protein hard wheat varieties for end use in the WA domestic market.
AWB (Australia) Limited General Manager Bob McKay said the price premiums over export markets for high quality hard wheat were captured in the Domestic Hard Pool and returned to growers.
“The current estimated Domestic Hard Pool equity of $231.38 (GST Incl.) delivered port is a premium over export prices and represents the value of growers tapping in to the domestic market when they have the right quality grain,” Mr McKay said.
“With such strong returns on offer growers have been quick to fill the Domestic Hard Pool and this is demonstrated in its early closure this season.”
Growers who want to know more about the Domestic Hard Pool should contact their local area office.
