Growers will soon receive a brochure explaining AWB’s new simplified paperwork, designed to make account keeping easier for growers.
AWB General Manager Grain Acquisition, Bob McKay, says key information from several forms has been combined onto one payment advice to greatly reduce the amount of paperwork being sent to growers.
“AWB has consulted widely with growers, grower organisations, accountants and farm advisors to discuss how to make AWB’s paperwork clearer and more concise,” Said Mr McKay.
“The result is a simpler format containing all relevant information, with a better explanation and colour coding.
“Growers will find it easy to locate important information because it is clearly displayed on one payment advice. The new process will also minimise delays in receival and we guarantee to pay growers on time for delivered grain,” said Mr McKay.
From October 2001, growers will receive a single payment advice to reconcile accounts and complete BAS statements, this payment information will be summarised by registration and pay grade. A Grain Delivery Statement will continue to be sent to provide ticket-by-ticket physical delivery details.
If growers select AWB’s National Pool Harvest Payment, they will receive a single Harvest Payment Advice to notify them of the amount they have been advanced and a Harvest Payment Loan Statement to claim the interest against tax.
Mr McKay is confident the transition to the new paperwork will be smooth for growers and that they will appreciate the more concise system.
“We have worked hard to ensure that the new paperwork is easy to understand, and will save growers time and money. The grower services centre and area offices are available to answer any questions and walk growers through the new system if necessary,” said Mr McKay.
Payment Advices and details will be available for growers to view on the AWB website at www.awb.com.au.
