AWB Limited’s National Pool return estimates are mostly unchanged after today’s review, despite sharply lower international values. New crop 2001/2002 APH and AH prices increased marginally due to protein scale increases, whilst ADR2 and ADR3 prices were slightly lower.
AWB (International) Limited General Manager, Sarah Scales, said that prices for high protein, high quality wheat are expected to remain firm because of the effects of dryness on production in western areas of the US and Canada.
“These regions are important sources of quality wheat to many Asian and South American markets, and lower production should also maintain strong demand for Australian wheat,” Ms Scales said.
“Wheat prices generally were lower over the two week period, as harvest in the United States gets into full swing.
“Durum protein scales have decreased slightly due to the increased competition from northern hemisphere durum with the approach of the European, Turkish and northern American harvests,” Ms Scales said.
Golden Rewards matrices reflecting current pool returns will be available from AWB’s Grower Service Centre on 1800 054 433 or from AWB’s website at www.awb.com.au on Monday 25th June.
AWB (International) Limited’s pool estimates are released fortnightly. The next update will be released on Monday 9th July 2001 at 5pm EST.
