AWB National Pool has lowered 2002/03 Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) for most pay grades this week, as international wheat prices drop amid continuing market volatility.
The majority of milling grades have been reduced by $2 per tonne, with the 2002/03 APW base rate easing to $285/t, and AH to $299/t, while APH has been reduced by $3.50/t to $324/t. Durum estimates have been lifted by $5/t, with a current EPR for ADR1 of $353/t.
General Manager AWB National Pool Sarah Scales said the volatility in US wheat futures continued during the past week, with those markets declining between A$5/t and A$10/t.
"The AWB National Pool has cushioned some of that impact, but the market continues to move very erratically and has fallen appreciably in the past week, particularly for the higher protein wheat types," Ms Scales said.
Changes have also been made to the 2002/03 Golden Rewards protein increments for APH, with deductions between 12.5% and 13% protein reduced by 30 cents per 0.1%, and the premiums between 13.1% and 14% also reduced by 30 cents per 0.1% change in protein.
AWB National Pool estimates for 2001/02 remain unchanged.
The next AWB National Pool update will be released at 4pm Monday 2nd December 2002.
