| ||Media Release: AWB opens No2 durum pool|| ||
AWB has opened a new durum wheat pool for growers in New South Wales and South Australia.
The pool offers estimated returns of $405 a tonne for DR1, $380 for DR2, $325 for DR3 and $265 for ADRF (FOB, excl GST) and will be open for deliveries or for growers to sign access contracts until Tuesday, 17 February.
AWB General Manager Australian Commodities Stuart Richardson said that early season durum demand had been satisfied, leaving the market fragmented and difficult for growers holding unsold durum.
“We have been approached by a number of growers to offer this pool, so we are keen to meet their needs and support them,” Mr Richardson said.
“Durum prices have fallen, however AWB has years of experience in marketing Australian durum to international and domestic customers, so we believe we can place this grain in the market to growers’ advantage.
“We will hold this pool open for a limited period so that growers can review the product and estimated prices, then make their decision – after that it will be closed.
“AWB’s durum pool comes with all the features offered in AWB’s other pools, including a competitive range of payment options, cash flow flexibility and competitive finance, which combine with our dedicated operating structures to give peace of mind,” Mr Richardson said.
Growers who would like to know more about the durum pool should contact their local AWB Grain Marketer, or call AWB’s Grower Services Centre on 1800 054 433.
